Internally in liver failure, spastic bile ducts as a choleretic, in gastritis and enteritis as an astringent and anti-inflammatory drug. Externally, compresses for hard to heal wounds, frostbite, burns, varicose ulcers, in addition to rinsing the mouth and throat.

Action:
Bile, astringent and anti-inflammatory.

Indications for use:
Oral supportive in digestive disorders as a means of stimulating the secretion of digestive juices. Externally, compresses and washes in minor skin injuries (scratches, abrasions).

How to prepare it:
Adults - oral administration in the form of infusion: 1 tablespoon (2.0g) herb Pour 1 cup (200 ml) of boiling water, cover and let stand for 30 minutes. Drink a glass of infusion 2 times a day before meals as a digestive.

External application on the skin:
compresses or wash infusion prepared the same way, but not more than 2 times per day. Always use fresh brew.

Do not use if:
Allergy to St. John's wort or other plants of this family (Guttifereae) Hypersensitivity to ultraviolet rays, high fever, significant liver damage. Do not use in patients after organ transplant. Do not use in children under 12 years of age, older children after consulting your doctor.

Special warnings and precautions:
If symptoms worsen or do not improve, seek medical advice. During and after the application of preparations of St. John's wort is not recommended exposure to sunlight and UV radiation.

Side effects:
Possible allergic to sunlight and UV (solariums), especially in people with fair skin, symptoms include rash, itching, and redness of the skin. Symptoms may appear within 24 hours after exposure to light. Taking doses above 6 g can cause disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, nausea, anxiety, headache or allergic reactions. Interactions:
It has been shown that taking preparations of St. John's wort reduces the effect of certain concomitant medications meters. Al. warfarin, cyclosporin, theophylline, digoxin, antiviral agents, inhibitors of dentures, oral contraceptives, and therefore not recommended for use with these drugs. Not recommended for use with antidepressants that inhibit serotonin reuptake.
