Ceylon tea grown in Ceylon (Sri-Lanka) does not come from the island, the first of its seeds were planted there in the second decade of the nineteenth century and it was in the botanical garden. The industrial-scale cultivation of thought for more than 40 years later, only because the rapidly spreading disease wiped out all the coffee plantations. Tea bushes have proven themselves well in the local climate, and they like to grow at high altitudes in order to be cool and damp, grubbing for the crop growing areas of mountainous jungle, forever changing the environment of the island. As a result, today, the entire region of the island, though beautiful and lush green tea is alarmingly homogeneous monoculture, the landscape does not change often even for tens of kilometers.
